The Errol Wyles Foundation

The Errrol Wyles Justice Foundation website

The Errol Wyles Foundation is being established at the moment. Following is a brief outline of the purpose of the foundation. We will keep this page up permanently and add to it as the foundation evolves.

The Foundation was initially established to promote a just outcome from
the hitherto entirely unsatisfactory sequelae to the violent death of the
late Errol Wyles Junior on 7 June, 2003, hopefully resulting from extensive
media exposure of the issues involved and representations being made to the Queensland Government. It can now be confirmed that an extensive
submission has been lodged with the Queensland government requesting that appropriate charges be brought against the driver of the car.

Additionally, the Foundation intends to assist the firm of Levitt
Robinson in taking up the legal cudgels for Lex Wotton, charged in connection with the Palm Island riots and expected to face trial later this year.

The Foundation will also agitate for legal redress for the Aborigines
whose wages were ’stolen’ in Northern Australia and strategically select
cases in which either baseless or vindictive prosecutions are initiated against Aborigines or where Aborigines have been victims of physical abuse or death in custody.

It is intended that the Foundation, will act in conjunction with other
human rights agencies, NGO’s and tertiary institutions throughout Australia and internationally.
